Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!
The day didn't start out so well. Evan has been running a low-grade fever for the past two days and woke up this morning with a temp of 100. He didn't look so hot so I started to wonder if he would be up for the Halloween festivities this evening. I focused on giving him medicine like the doctor instructed me to and let him rest. While he was taking nap # 1 I worked on decorating the outside of our house to get it ready for tonight. You may wonder why I am decorating the day of. Yesterday I got a very excitng email from Kirkland's saying all their Halloween and Havest decor was on sale 75% off. I hopped in the car and drove over there with my $10 off a $50  purchase coupon I have been holding onto for such the occasion and went Cah-RAZY. Spent $59 saved $195! I love sales. Needless to say I was pretty excited about my decorations I had scored and they went up- even if it was the day of. Here's a picture of our front door. I know it's not much but we had absolutely nothing so it's a start.
Sidenote: I got the pumpkin from the thrift store for $2.98, the skull which lights up different colors came from Kirklands for $2.10 and the spider is also from Kirklands for a whopping $2.10. Yay!

Here's our mailbox decor... the first pic is with the flash on and you can't really tell how pretty the lights are so I took a second pic without the flash. Ooooooooooooooo- pretty!

The trick or treaters started knocking at 6pm. We had a TON of candy (to start with). Evan was taking nap # 2 and finally got up after I opened the door to his bedroom to let all the noise and lights in. We gave him dinner and he was acting like he felt a lot better. Here's a picture of him in his "I Love Mummy" shirt Heather got for him--- she's always buying him the cutest clothes. I think she just knows that I can't get out and frequent Target as much as she does. I love her for being so thoughtful.

After dinner we got Evan into his costume. He was originally going to be an alligator that Mimi picked up at Sam's which was super cute but squeezed his waist and the hoodie wouldn't stay on. I fortunately was able to find his costume at Target on Sunday after I went shopping at Kirkland's.... it was a lucky shopping day.

Here's Evan in his first ever Halloween costume....I couldn't stop laughing:

Blake, Steph, Rylee, Jax & Jen all came over. Poor Rylee and Jax were a little under the weather but they were such troopers. We did the best we could with getting them all to sit/ stand still long enough for a picture. Here's what we got:

Just as we were finishing taking these pictures Kevin was handing out the last bit of candy. We shut off the light and all went trick or treating.

I just love this picture of the men and boys. So sweet.

It was pretty cold so we headed back to the house and attempted to take more pictures- haha- here's what we got:

Here's another picture of the boys- I just love it!

It was such a good night and I know Evan had a blast. He loves being outside and seeing new things. It was great to have the Millards and Jen over. Hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween as well. Now, I've got to take down my Halloween decor and put up my new Harvest decor that I got from Kirkland's. Bye for now!

New to this...

Yesterday I spent a few hours looking at different blogs and thought it would be great if we had one.... so... I am attempting to create our family a blog so everyone who wants to can check in and see what's going on in our world. I am finding myself obsessing over the layout, coloring and template on the blog. There's so much to this so please be patient with me as I learn how this whole thing works. I hope to have some fun things added soon.
